Join us for a spectacular July 4th celebration in Historic Downtown Durango , featuring a whole weekend of festivities and events! Things kick off on Wednesday, July 3rd, at the La Plata County Fairgrounds & Event Center with a thrilling rodeo.

On Thursday, July 4th, get ready for an amazing day packed with multiple events. Start your morning with a gourmet breakfast at Rotary Park from 7:30 to 10:30 and live music at Buckley Park beginning at 9 and featuring Southwest Civic Winds and Durango Chorale Society. You can also lace up your running shoes and join your friends at the Freedom 5K run/walk along the Animas River Trail also at Rotary Park at 9:00 am. Experience the festive parade on Main Ave. at 5 followed by more live music and dancing at the Transit Center. The day will go out with a bang with the return of a traditional fireworks show at approximately 9 pm, drought conditions permitting.

Tuesday, July 4: The Big Day!

• 7:30am - 10:30am: All American Gourmet Breakfast at Rotary Park
• 9:00am - 11:00am: Start Animas River Trail Freedom 5K Run at Rotary Park
• 9:00am - 10:30am: Free Concert in the Park featuring Southwest Civic Winds and Durango Chorale Society at Rotary Park
• 11:30pm - 4:30pm: 4th of July Picnic at Buckley Park
• 5:00pm - 6:00pm: Stars & Stripes Parade
• 6:00pm - 9:30pm: Independence Day live music and dance at the Transit Center
• 9:00pm: 4th of July Fireworks Show
