July 4th celebration in Historic Downtown Durango will feature a whole weekend of festivities and events! Things will kick off on Friday in Buckley Park with Outdoor Movie Night featuring Sandlot. The night will include music by Stillwater Youth Bands and Bike Decorating for the 4th of July Parade. On Saturday the first annual BBQ, Bulls & Beer Competition will take place at the La Plata County Fairgrounds starting at 10am.
On Saturday evening at the transit center, kick up your heels for a Street Dance and watch the drone and fireworks show. On Sunday, stop by the Powerhouse Science Center for a free music event called Rockin' on the River featuring Elder Grown. And for the big event on July 4th this day will be packed with multiple events including an All American Breakfast at Rotary park, free music at Buckley park, picnic, concerts, fun bike and running races and capped off with the 4th of July parade down Historic Main Avenue!
