Generalizing the term ‘East’ covers a lot of ground in the Durango area. Neighborhoods, such as Florida River Estates, Taylor Ranch, Lemon Reservoir, Vallecito Lake Resort, Forest Lakes, Bellflower, and further east, to the town of Bayfield, all lie on the East side of Durango and La Plata County. Here, homes range from wooded hillside lots to riverfront, to lake resort communities and ranchettes on larger parcels of land. This large geographic area has so much variation in home type, that it’s a good idea to take a scenic drive to some of these spots to help focus on the right type of home and location.
