Heading west on Highway 160, in the direction of Mesa Verde National Park, lie several neighborhood options such as Twin Buttes of Durango, Durango Ridge Ranch, Durango West, Lightner Creek and several smaller ‘hidden’ neighborhoods. A wide range of home types can be found here, near the foot of the La Plata Mountains. Further West is the town of Mancos, Colorado, where some of the most beautiful Rocky Mountain ranches can be found. Approximately 30 minutes west of Durango, there are large acreage neighborhoods and ranches of all imaginable sizes where elk, deer and other wildlife are abundant. Communities such as Elk Stream Ranch and Maggie Ranch, in areas along Cherry Creek and beyond offer mountain country living within a reasonable drive to Durango. This is the place to look where rustic mountain living meets refinement and comfort.
